When we arrived and headed towards the APBA tent, Admiral was intercepted by his friend Ryan. Admiral has lots of friends, so we're used to people being happy to see him. I left Admiral with Ryan and headed over to the tent with our stuff. When I got there everyone asked where Admiral was, and THEN they said "hi" to me, so that just shows whose important and whose not.
Anyway, I set up my chair and his bed, and got to chatting with everyone. Admiral brought Ryan over to the tent about 10 minutes after I got settled and said hello to his friends, the Brindle Babes and The Spotted Duo.
There were four groups there: APBA, TAAG, Inc, HART, and Paws for Seniors. HART was smart and brought a sprinkler, and I seriously think that every summer event should have one. I was not above walking through it myself at one point.
TAAG, Inc. was offering $5 dog washes, so Admiral took advantage of that. The cool water must have felt REALLY good because Admiral didn't attempt to step out of the pool once during that bath. The poor little boy looking at him was convinced that Admiral's leg "fell right off!" someplace in the parking lot. He had seen Kaida and Kabuki earlier and he thought Admiral was one of them, and they have all of their legs. I explained what happened and he ran to tell his parents, who came to meet him after Admiral got toweled off.
We had one dog show up to take advantage of the free microchip offer, and I taught Michelle how to do it. Next time she'll be able to do it herself. =)
We talked to lots of people, met lots of dogs, and Admiral got his picture taken with lots of his people friends. Here he is with Christina, APBA volunteer and one of the people responsible for making the Adopt With Love event happen for Subaru. They are posing in the trunk of one of the cars stuffed with dog food donations! The donations were split between the rescues for foster dogs.
I really like this event. Brown's Subaru is a very dog friendly dealership. If you're in the market for a new car, I suggest stopping by. I'm a die hard Toyota owner, but if I were car shopping, I would stop by there for that reason alone.
Our next event is the Bow Wow Luau on 6/20/15 at PetValu! Hope to see you there!
